Unfortunately I have the same problem at college.
There are ways around these proxy filters. I'll give a few tips because different types check different things, but I haven't managed to get back on triplejack at college

. I suppose I should be relived that I won't have to timeout/fold winning hands any more because the teachers standing behind me and im trying to make it look like I'm working.
1. Google for a CGI proxy. Basically, instead of your computer trying to get a webpage from triplejack (which wouldn't work due to restrictions), it would try to get the webpage from the CGI website, which in turn gets the webpage from triplejack, then gives you the page. A middle-man if you will. Of course, most proxy filters also block out CGI proxies to stop you attempting this.
2. Add a . to the end of the website (e.g.
http://www.example.com.) something about the way certain proxy filters log the websites means an extra dot on the end will place the website you are trying to view into a blank "group" of websites, neither good or bad, and will let you view it. I've never come across a proxy filter that's actually fooled by this but many sites seem to think it'll work.
3. Convert the hostname to an IP. As well as going to
http://www.triplejack.com, you can also get to this website by visiting the IP address. Some proxy filters only check websites by the website name (e.g. triplejack.com) or keywords (e.g. if triplejack contained the word boob).
Here's a lookup website if you can't be bothered finding one yourself.
http://www.triplejack.com becomes 67.19.7.162
4. Convert the hostname to an octal IP. Same as above really, but instead of the IP address using decimal values, it uses octadecimal values. There's lots of ways to write an IP address, and if the proxy filter checks IPs as well as hostnames and keywords, this may just do the trick.
Open up windows calculator (and swap it to scientific view), then replace each set of numbers with its octadecimal equivalent with a leading 0 (so the computer knows you are using octadecimal and not decimal).
(
http://www.triplejack.com) 67.19.7.162 becomes 0103.023.07.0242
Problems with 4 & 5: Because we are using IP addresses, not hostnames, we are referring to a computer on the internet instead of an actual website. It just so happens that Zen's personal website (
http://www.zenblender.com) is on the same computer (or IP) as
http://www.triplejack.com, so although the proxy doesn't bother us anymore, we're not exactly at the place we want to be
The good news is that it will work with a lot of other sites which are banned because a lot of sites have a single computer\server\ip per website. [/url]
